HAUTE $1100 POTATO SACK COUTURE.

When my mom came home from vacation with a little surprise for me, I never would of guessed it would be this, to say the least. To make a long story short, her friend bought this lovely Oscar de la Renta number a few days beforehand, only realizing she hated it and vowed to dispose of it immediately. My mom, being the good mom she is, brought it back home for me, where I happily put it in the 'casual & exercise' section of my closet. Case closed. However, after a little more research, I not only found out this baby was $1100, but it was made of the same cloth of potato sacks. *facepalm* You could imagine my dismay as I was planning on jogging in it this morning. My little story begs this question - why would anyone want to buy something like this .... for THAT price? I reiterate, it's a lovely top, but REALLY? And now I ask you, faithful readers, if you were to buy something that costs $1100, what would it be?

I would never pay anywhere near $1,000 for a shirt, no matter who made it. Lol. That's awesome you got it for free! :)

My bf just got an Oscar De La Renta sweater from Macy's for only $9!! I'm tempted to buy myself one in a different color. Now that's a price I don't mind paying. Haha.

Hope you're having a fab week! xo

Hi there-wow, you scored well to get this as a gift, but it certainly is a lot of money to pay otherwise!

Almost all the bags I plan to get cost +1000€, I wouldn't have bought the shirt for the price, but some people just have enough of money to do so.

Haha! I love the fact that it was constructed from potato sacks...that's a first!

I don't think I'd be able to spend $1100 on anything without feeling guilty; but I really want a pair of Golden Goose Boots. They're about $1100 and I'm in love with them!

Cute hat, by the way!! :)

yeah, i go with jennifer. i would never pay for anything like that for such a price. even for a pair of shoes that i really fancy? they're worth like a fortune. after i checked the price, their beauty just immediately vanished.

It always surprises me why people spend so much money on items that don't seem the value. I would however consider spending that much on the Alexa Mulberry bag. Oh I dream for that bag! Lucky you for scoring the shirt for freeee ;-)
