the pixie cut.

being a PIXIE GELDOF fan, i can't decide if i love or hate this look. shedding her usual chic teen style, PIXIE attended a fundraising gala at THE BREWERY in this oversized furry coat yesterday evening in london, designed by HENRY HOLLAND. i somewhat think this is very sophisticated, but yet very .. erm .. not her. what are your thoughts? happy weekend!

nylon's 10 anniversary issue featured the always lovely peaches geldof, chatting about her secret love for nerds. (clark kent over superman anyone?) in her own words, "show me a muscle-bound male model, and i will turn my head towards a bespectacled, skinny, and socially awkward boy instead." oh, i just love the appeal of an underdog. the issue also featured lindsay lohan, who graced the cover, in some provocative poses and cute outfits. so that begs the question - do YOU find yourself agreeing with peaches, and loving the "nerds?"

don't you like the roll of the limousine wheel.

poem.

"I have studied many times The marble which was chiseled for me --A boat with a furled sail at rest in a harbor. In truth it pictures not my destination But my life. For love was offered me and I shrank from its disillusionment; Sorrow knocked at my door, but I was afraid; Ambition called to me, but I dreaded the chances. Yet all the while I hungered for meaning in my life. And now I know that we must lift the sail, And catch the winds of destiny Wherever they drive the boat. To put meaning in one's life may end in madness, But life without meaning is the torture Of restlessness and vague desire --It is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid."

Funny story behind these boots. In Texas, I was casually browsing through Forever 21 looking for spring jackets when I saw them. Picking them up, the price that glared back at me was $10. $10!! I made my mother buy them, to which I lost them a couple of days later. I later found them in her closet, which she claimed "had no idea they were there." Uhhuuh. But whatever, the weather today is absolutely amazing, compared to the miniature snowstorm yesterday morning. So I was prompted to hop on my trampoline! xx

D&G Fall/Winter 2009

... Or aka my new favourite collection. I'm in love with all of the vintage, chunky necklaces mixed with the dark, bold colors. The hats are very chic, leaving my general hate for hats gone. (And did you see the knee-high gladiator boots?!) But fast-forward to 2:28, I want that gorgeous black leather handbag! Time's like these I really think .. I want to be a D&G girl. P.S - ugh! I accidently deleted my visitors located map. Boo.

As my obsession with Pete Doherty continues into its second year, I was surprised when I stumbled upon these handsome photos of him modeling for Roberto Cavalli's fall 2007/2008 line and Gio-Goi's 2006 menswear line in religion class today. I know it's rather old, but damn, he looks fantastic. Kind of looking like a young Marlon Brando for Cavalli. If you haven't checked out his new solo work yet, definitely worth a look. But for now, I'm just pulling for a Libertines reunion!

Devonbella Writes for College Fashion!

That's right! The lovely Briana of the prestigious College Fashion website decided to publish my article about looking fabulous on a budget. I'm the only high school student to ever contribute to this website, so that's amazing. I deserve a latte! To view it, check out "my favourite blogs" catagory on the side, and click CollegeFashion!

Palm Beach

I have never been so sunburn in my life. Ask anyone. Just walking around school today, my teachers were wondering if I have a tanning problem and sent me to the nurse for consultation. Awesome! But not thinking about my burns, the weekend was fabulous. Sun, ocean, and attractive baseball players make for a great weekend. Before my camera started malfunctioning, here's some pics I took ...

The Modern Backpack

No offence to Jansport or anything, but those backpacks aren't exactly the most fashionable way to carry our books. Now, the trend currently on the rise is using large handbags to carry all of our monstrous school work. Florals, preppy stripes, zebra, or the designer's signature monogram can all be used for backpacks, and are super chic. Right now I'm using an adorable extra-large patent white leather tote I picked up at Harvey Nic's last fall. If you like this new trend, check out some of my favourite picks on the new modern backpacks. If you have any bags you think are cute, drop a comment!
Alright, so I'm heading off the Florida for a weekend of R&R at the beaches, so I'll blog again next Monday. Cheers!

Prince Charles: Fashion Idol?

Did I miss something? Last week, Esquire magazine named the always dapper Prince Charles as "world's best dressed man" beating out Barack Obama and Outkast rapper Andre 3000. Praising him for always looking good in his double breasted suits and elegant style, the magazine quoted he is "always incredibly well dressed, as befits his position as the heir to the throne."
Okay, I guess he dresses cool sometimes (except in his kilts), but maybe they got mixed up with my precious Harry or William. What do you all think of Esquire's choice?

Cheers.

Products I Love - Burberry Jellies

I never never never thought I would like anything trendy with the word "jelly" in it. But I stand corrected, as looking through the Neiman Marcus website I found these adorable pairs of shoes; coming in black, white, or maroon. And of course, they are designed by my precious Burberry. My new favourite pair of shoes! I definitely should find a job now.

Keep a Secret?

Who knew Lily Allen and LiLo would make such a cunning duo. Whatevs, because they have the most fabulous matching tattoos I have seen in awhile. On a girls night out two weeks ago, they both got matching "shhh" tattoos on their fingers. Who cares when they turn old and they look obscure after that ... I love! I wish there was some form of ink that wasn't permanent, so I can have this tattoo for a year or so. Your thoughts?

What I'm Wearing ... Saturday Afternoon

The weather on the East Coast is insane! Since when do you see 70 degrees in the middle of March? So, during my Starbucks and Barney's run, here's what I decided to put on. Unfortunitley it's a tad cloudy, so I can't wear any shades.

Yay or Nay?

Ever since Nicole Richie debuted the hippie headband two years ago, its popularity immediately shot up. Many premiere designers (Gucci, Mcqueen, etc.) have even created looks involving this quirky head-piece. I myself think it's cute and have been known to wear them on occasion, but the question is: should this trend have stayed in the 70's?

BAMF

One of my current favourite things to rock is leather, a vintage tee, and lots of black. Although half of the time my mother won't let me out of the house with it because I look like a "silly goth child," I can't get enough of the grunge/rock feel, especially for spring. My current item of interest is black leather leggings that I picked up my last trip to London in a cute boutique on Portobello. I definitely get this look from my dad, because we both share a love of classic and 80's rock. (The Who is my personal fav.) For me, I also like adding some seemingly girly jewelry, so it doesn't seem that I'm toooo hardcore. I'm addicted to the Salvage Steel dress on this list, I try to wear it all the time!

iLove ... American Apparel

I've never really been too keen on AA for some reason, I guess it's because there was never a store close by. But with the opening of one about six months ago at my nearest mall, it was officially love. Like seriously, I wanted to buy everything in the bloody store. On top of that, the material is actually ... great. The one thing I hate is buying clothes and their color wearing out in about three days. I'm still wearing the same items I purchased six months ago, and they look exactly the same. Wohoo! Anyways, here's some of my favourite purchases from AA.
